This is a senior appointment with long-term career potential, working in a sector which is responding to and addressing the risks associated with climate change – identified as the most significant risk to global economic development. The aim of this role is to contribute to growing the Climate Change and Sustainability services in the Canadian Unit and across North America.

 

You will work as part of the existing Climate Change and Sustainability(CC&S) team within Mott MacDonald’s Canadian Consulting Services Group with the following responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and direct climate resilience, carbon mitigation, and sustainability projects for a range of public and private sector clients. The following are examples of CC&S scope: GHG inventories, embodied carbon assessments climate risk assessments, adaptation planning implementing the Envision standard and Net Zero planning. Support buildings, transportation and other infrastructure planning and design projects, including coordinating climate mitigation, risk, and resilience processes and applying related tools / frameworks (e.g., SDGs, ENVISION).
  • Provide account leadership on Canadian key accounts by working with relevant stakeholders (both client side and internal) to ensure opportunities are delivered on schedule and budget while providing a focused client-centric experience
  • Exercise leadership and initiative in support of the Canadian CC&S team, through identifying and pursuing opportunities and preparing successful proposals to grow our existing pipeline of work.
  • Exercise project leadership via a Project Principal role. This includes supporting project managers and teams to deliver high quality work and exercise sound commercial awareness.
  • Participate in the wider global community of advisory and climate change consultants within Mott MacDonald, collaborating with colleagues across all Regions.
  • Be a mentor and coach for junior colleagues to build their capabilities and commercial awareness.
  • Together with others in the team, provide thought leadership in the market, prepare materials for and attend industry events, and engage with our clients to share our collective experience.

Candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience will be considered for the role:

 

  • A post-secondary degree and 12+ years of career experience related to engineering and/or infrastructure (including social infrastructure) development.
  • Sound commercial understanding and desire to operate within a dynamic commercial environment.
  • Significant experience in the design, implementation and management of projects in the field of transportation infrastructure. Clear, concise writing style and experience in proposal writing for a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated business development experience with a track record of growing a business and securing and successfully completing CC&S projects projects.
  • Familiar and proficient with project management principles and processes, including budgeting and managing contractual .
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working within a team environment.
  • Line managing junior staff and providing oversight and mentorship.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and unsupervised.
  • A keenness to grow client relationships and expand existing mandates

BC Pay Transparency

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $130,000 - $160,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
