Mott MacDonald appoints new water lead in New Zealand

Mott MacDonald has appointed Dominic Hollewand as water leader for its New Zealand business.

Dominic has over 25 years of extensive experience developing organisational capability and delivering major capital projects and business systems within the infrastructure consultancy market in New Zealand. He is known for his strategic vision and extensive control systems, capital procurement, and infrastructure delivery knowledge.

Dominic previously held the position of advisory general manager at Neo Engineering Consultancy (Neo), a specialist electrical engineering and strategic advisory company that worked across utilities, local government and primary industry in New Zealand. Since joining Mott MacDonald in 2024 as part of its acquisition of Neo, Dominic has been in a project director role. As the new water leader, Dominic will work closely with other senior leaders across the business to develop, implement and progress strategic growth plans for the New Zealand market.

Thomas Haarhoff, who previously held the role of water leader for five years, will be stepping into a technical director role, where his focus will be on client engagement and strategic market development within the water market in New Zealand.

The changes reflect Mott MacDonald’s commitment to growing a water offering in the New Zealand market, building on its success across network planning, modelling, monitoring and design programmes, as well as various wastewater treatment plants across the country and using digital innovations to tackle stormwater challenges in Auckland.
