Mott MacDonald has appointed Erin Flaherty as an independent member of its shareholders’ committee.
Consisting of 21 senior Mott MacDonald employee shareholders, the shareholders’ committee provides oversight of, and challenge and support to, the executive board, as well as advise on key issues and approving significant decisions and actions. Erin becomes the second independent member of committee alongside Mike Brown MVO, former commissioner for Transport for London.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Erin is a board member and member of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee of Venues NSW, a board member and chair of the Remuneration and Outsourcing Committee of The Infrastructure Fund, a $2.5bn infrastructure fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management, and also sits on the boards of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the NSW Police & Citizens Youth Clubs. She is a member of Chief Executive Women (CEW) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Erin’s career spans 30 years across both private and Government sectors, with extensive experience in corporate governance, finance, infrastructure and law. In 2015, Erin was appointed to the Advisory Board for the Sydney Metro Rail project and in 2018 became a founding board member for the newly created statutory authority, Sydney Metro Authority.
Most recently, she was jointly appointed by the commonwealth minister for finance and the minister for cities and urban infrastructure as chair of the National Intermodal Corporation, with responsibility for the establishment of a network of open access intermodal precincts in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria to connect into the national rail freight network.
