Mott Macdonald Bentley (MMB) is the design and build unit of global engineering consultancy Mott Macdonald. We are currently looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to help support us in delivering work within our United Utilities framework.
MMB are among one of seven partners that will support United Utilities and help deliver £3bn worth of upgrades to critical infrastructure assets including water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations and reservoirs within the North West during the AMP8 period.
As a Structural Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement
- Designing new structures and/or modifications to existing structures using appropriate design codes and standards
- Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
- Coordinating with other disciplines (e.g. process, mechanical, electrical) to ensure that structural design is fully integrated into overall project design
- Participating in design reviews, project meetings, and construction site visits
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership
- Experience in the water and wastewater industry
- Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards)
- Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Staad Pro, ETABS, SAP2000)
- Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
