We are seeking an intermediate Structural Designer to join our dynamic team in Calgary. As a Structural Designer, you will play a crucial role in preparing structural 3D models and extracting 2D drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of our designs on a variety of oil & gas infrastructure projects.
As a Structural Designer, your roles and responsibilities are expected to include:
Create 3D structural models using AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Structure 2020
Prepare 2D packages from the design models.
Developing General Arrangement and detailed drawings for concrete and steel structures, including plant buildings, pipe racks, platforms, and tank farms.
Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team for structural design requirements.
Create drawings with minimal supervision.
Develop technical drawings from sketches (determining appropriate scales, arrangement, and specific details of the drawings) from the concepts required by the engineering team.
Respect and enforce policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.
Realize the different stages of the project in the timeframes and budgets.
Perform other related duties that may contribute to the projects.
Candidate Specifications:
Hold an associates or higher degree in automated drawing or civil/structural engineering technology or in a related field, or working to obtain their degree.
Experience working in construction, an asset.
Have good communication skills (oral and written) in English
Proficiency with AutoCAD 3D, CADWorx Plant Structure 2020, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Office
Ability to work to meet cost objectives, quality, and deadlines.
Time management skills and adaptation to change.
