Main Purpose of the Job:
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support on-going water and wastewater treatment projects in the region.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
Leading the development and checking of relevant electrical technical specifications and procurement items
Conducting primary technical reviews on assigned internal and/or external consultant/ contractor's design packages and/or client processes and procedures related to electrical equipment/system design and calculations. Prepare, review and check technical reports on findings.
Tendering packages to comply with client requirements, project schedules and laws and regulations
Review vendor's documentations with respect to electrical equipment and materials to ensure compliance with the requirements
Evaluate and advise on electrical related design changes and non-conformances to ensure fulfilment of the requirements
Ensure the development of required documentation for the review process in order to include comments, recommendations and corrective action plans for the prime contractor as appropriate
Provide direction and oversight of project controls and ensure your team understand and comply with quality, programme, and cost requirements
Mentor and developing staff in design, using leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and also creating effective working environments.
Controlling the checking and reviewing to meet project, company and client specifications for safe design
Developing, reviewing and checking Single line (SLDs) Schematic and Cable Block Diagrams
Communicate with stakeholders at a technical level sufficient to get designs and documentation approved by approving authorities
Ensure that the assigned electrical equipment installation activities are performed in accordance with the engineering design requirements, project contract agreements, schedules as well as Safety and Quality Standards
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
Significant experience and knowledge in trends for water/wastewater treatment technologies.
Well established reputation in the local and/or international water/wastewater treatment sector.
Strong IT and standard industry software skills, including hands-on knowledge of BIM and working within Common Data Environments.
A working knowledge of advanced and emerging water/wastewater technologies. Continuously looking for innovative and sustainable solutions to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
Proven ability to market engineering services to clients and lead strategic bids.
Ability to liaise confidently with both new and existing Clients to develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships.
Analyse project performance and identify risks that may impact project delivery. Develop mitigation to avoid negative impacts or exploit opportunities.
Able to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams

Candidate Specification:
Degree in electrical engineering degree or equivalent from an recognized University
Chartered or Incorporated member of the IET, or equivalent, with extensive experience in water and wastewater treatment and primary infrastructure design.
Experience in working on water/wastewater treatment projects throughout feasibility stage, outline and detailed design, construction supervision and preferably operation / optimisation / commissioning. Experience of working on dry utilities infrastructure projects shall be considered as an added advantage
Must have experience in managing, checking and approving of design documents and drawings associated with the design of electrical power supply (HV, LV) and electrical plant design within the water sector.
Shall be able to demonstrate the following key skills;
Water and wastewater pumping station design, including control philosophy
Desalination plant design
Design for electrical plant (motors, MCC, power supply)
Design of electrical power supply (HV & LV)
Detailed knowledge of electrical design software suchas AMTECH, ETAP, CYMCAP
Checking and Reviewing electrical contract documents, calculations, drawings & reports
Detailed knowledge of electrical specifications and datasheets
Detailed understanding of P&ID’s
Checking and reviewing ICA contract documents, control philosophy & reports
Detailed knowledge of ICA specifications and datasheets
Detailed knowledge of testing and commissioning (FAT & SAT)
Flexibility to travel across the MME region.
