Key responsibilities include:


•    Delivering great work by being part of a team that encourages support and mentoring of more junior staff while providing information management direction and technical guidance to the wider department. 
•    Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions and services.

•    Being a proactive participant in the information management market, providing leadership and growth for TMS, consulting with industry colleagues and vendors to ensure Mott MacDonalds leading position in the market.

•    Capitalising on great people and great relationships taking every opportunity to enhance the Mott MacDonald brand and highlight our capabilities.  We want you to help develop our people's capability within the team, giving them the guidance, mentoring and support needed to become high-performing recognised consultants, and also help grow our talented team.

•    Developing and implementing strategic plans to help drive discipline, programme, and project best practice for TMS and our clients.

 

Project activities include:


•    Responsible for delivering the reliable exchange of design information from MM or client hosted CDE, GIS and associated platforms are articulated and subsequently implemented.
•    Own and implement MM specific information management project onboarding.
•    Support integration and co-ordination of information within the project information models.
•    Set the information management direction of projects in accordance with Information Execution Plans (IEP), ensuring that direction is articulate to project personnel.
•    Identify and/or establish information management tooling / system training needs. 
•    Identify, challenge, and recommend BIM and information management approaches to projects, ensuring they are formally agreed, delivered, and monitored. 
•    Establish and work with the network of lead designers, modellers and interface managers ensure adherence to the project’s information management requirements. 
•    Support the project management team by reviewing and making recommendations to proposed information exchange processes and practices.
•    Support the project management team by surfacing pertinent delivery metrics and data via the use of dashboarding technologies, ensure the data required to drive these technologies is available.
•    Work with the relevant individuals and vendors to establish improved ways of working and provide guidance/ advice/ training for this and related systems as required.
•    Work with project controls and others to establish improved information management ways of working.
•    Research, develop and explore emerging processes and means to bring added value to the project and agree this formally. 
•    Ensure implementation of a Data Shortcuts Strategy among modelling personnel is created and implemented.


Candidate Spec:

 

•    Leadership: A proven leader of information management teams, with experience of infrastructure project delivery processes, and information management in design and build programmes and projects.

•    Discipline best practice: Skilled at setting and driving information management good practice across teams, whilst supporting the adoption of new ways of working.  Good knowledge of information management standards, tools, and processes best practice.

•    Programme best practice: Good technical knowledge and expertise in designing and embedding information management best practice into major infrastructure programmes and projects in line with BS1192 / ISO 19650.

•    Commercial acumen: Strong commercial awareness, with knowledge of the contractual implications of information requirements in project change control processes. 

•    Communication & collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and experience of multi stakeholder engagement.

•    Consultative, analytical approach: Experience in needs-based solution design for internal and external clients, using strong business analysis and problem-solving skills.

•    Change agent: Familiar with digital transformation and change management approaches.

•    Data and information knowledge: Understanding of data and information governance and management.  Experience of managing CAD, design, geospatial, contractual data and information associated to infrastructure design and build projects. 

 

Desirable 

 

•    Sector: Experience of working in the transportation sector.

•    Certification: Information Management certification (BSI or BRE).

•    Systems & tools: Experience with systems and toolsets such as Asite, ProjectWise, Autodesk and MIDP management tools.
