We have many years of experience connecting generation to customers, with projects ranging from OE roles, lenders technical advisors to detailed substation and transmission and design services.
 
 
The Opportunity
 
We’re excited to grow our Power Systems team in Indonesia to support the energy transition in Australia, Asia Pacific, and globally.  

 

We are seeking Power Systems Engineers to establish and foster long-term positive client relationships with our Australian and broader Asia Pacific energy clients and projects. This role is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Supporting the Asia Pacific New Zealand Australia (APNA) Energy Sector Leader and Networks Market Leader, you will assist in developing bids that are client-focused, technically excellent and value adding, which helps to delivering respective business plans and deliverables.
 
The focus of your role will be to provide power systems modelling and studies services to our Networks, Renewables, Hydro, Mining & Industry, and Energy Advisory market sectors. You will be involved in a range of delivery functions including Owners Engineer, Concept Design and FEED, working collaboratively with leadership team to bring the right mix of resources to deliver excellence for our clients.

 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to:  

  • Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other professional and technical staff.
  • Foster a positive culture of safety and wellbeing by participating in safety leadership activities including safety walks, positive interventions, and incident reporting.
  • Act as Mott MacDonald internal Technical Lead or Project Manager – fulfilling functions of these roles as defined by our Business Management System (STEP).
  • Administer and monitor the delivery of projects in accordance with Mott MacDonald’s internal Business Management System (STEP), and standardised reporting systems and project administration tools (i.e., Connect Business and CRM).
  • Develop a clear understanding of client design standards, guiding technical teams and achieving compliance.

 

 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, specialising in Electric Power Engineering. 
  • Experience in power systems modelling and studies in different time domain on different power systems simulation software, including PowerFactory, PSS/E and PSCAD.
  • Knowledge and experience using automation tools including Python and DIgSILENT Programming Language, to perform large numbers of power system simulations efficiently.
  • Experience using data processing automation, including Visual Basic for Application and Python to process input data, measurement data and simulation results efficiently.
  • Familiar with tuning of power system model to meet the required performance or to represent the actual performance of the equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical power engineering, especially power system analysis.
  • Facilitate design integration, design technical interface management and inter-disciplinary checks.
  • Experience preparing project proposals and technical reports.
