Piping Technician

 

Working as an Autocad Plant 3D Technician or Designer and carrying out all 3D modelling work using various modules and tools in AutoCAD plant 3d application. The ideal candidate will help in performing the 3D modelling work on various projects and delivering the plant 3D model and delivering the GA drawings and isometrics.

 

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required;

• Should be able to utilize and work Plant 3D efficiently
• Knowledge of Piping Design and Piping Study for tanks, Pumps, Vessel, Heat exchangers, compressors, Air cooler.
• Knowledge of Design and DRAFT module of Plant 3D
• Carry out GA extraction, dimensioning and annotation
• Modelling of various type of Equipment
• Modelling of civil structural and pipe supports
• Participate in the 3D model review sessions when required
• Review P&IDs, PFDs, Vender drawings and instrument details and utilize these information in 3D modelling
• Preparation and checking of Equipment as well as Nozzle orientation
• Preparation of Plot Plan and Equipment layout 
• Preparation of Piping General Arrangement and Support drawings
• Preparation of MTO for piping items
• Coordinate with other disciplines and utilize the information in building the 3D model.
• Check the drawings from other disciplines and provide comment as IDC process (Interdisciplinary Drawing Check)
• Provide civil information when required
• Prepare Piping Layout and other drawings in 2D
• Ability to work in flexible hours, occasionally more than working hours per week to meet client deadlines

 

Requisite Skill Sets:

• Candidate shall have proficient knowledge and work experience on  Autocad Plant 3D.
• Able to carry out GA drawing extraction, dimensioning and annotation.
• Able to generate Isometric drawings using ISODRAFT.
• Knowledge of Plant Layout, Piping GA, Nozzle Orientation, Bill of Material and Isometrics.
• Well conversant with all piping design aspect and working Piping discipline.
• Understanding of all piping components and valves including respective standards and dimensional details.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and MicroStation for preparing 2D drawings.
• Knowledge and working experience in Cadworx, REVIT, SP3D will be added advantage.
• Experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power Plant or other process industry.
• Strong computer skill. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Strong verbal, written communications skills in English.

 

Requisite Qualification:

• Diploma or Certified Technician from ITI is preferred. Certification course on 3D modelling also would be an added advantage.
