IT Team Lead - Application Packaging
The IT Team lead - Application Packaging oversees a global team that manages software packaging and deployment within the organization. The function includes packaging new software, new releases and applying periodic patching.
The individual is accountable for leading Application packaging activities and playing a role in catalog management for project and practice approved software across the organization. The IT Team Lead – Application Packaging helps develop and implements packaging procedures and oversee application lifecycle management.
As the lead, the function requires someone who can interface between different functions within IT like Engineering applications, Productivity applications, Business applications, Endpoint Services and IT Asset Management for understanding packaging needs and fulfillment.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Management of the Application Packaging Team.
- Ensure Software packaged and delivered to endpoints against SLA.
- Lead and co-ordinate weekly Application packaging Value Stream.
- Deciding complexity, priority and deadline of packaging requests and assigning the work packages to application packaging team.
- To maintain process documentations including Standard operating procedures, best practices, and methodologies for application packaging.
- Work closely with Enterprise Application teams to provide package and deployment support.
- Work closely with Endpoint services team to improve software delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Problem Management team.
- Ensure the IT solutions we deliver comply with Mott MacDonald standards, policies and any regulation; this includes adhering to our internal governance.
Candidate Specification:
Essential:
- Extensive experience in leading Application Packaging team.
- Experience in SCCM and INTUNE packaging, deployment & troubleshooting
- Good knowledge with Windows 10 and 11 Operating System, including registry, paths, and other common application relevant information.
- Experience in software re-harvesting, retirement of End-of-life applications and version control.
- Experience of using an ITSM system to record and manage work.
- Good Written and Verbal Communications.
- Working Independently and driving change.
Desirable:
- Graduate or equivalent qualification in IT related discipline.
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices, ITIL V3/V4.
- Additional Application packaging technologies (Admin Studio, Advanced Installer and WISE etc.)
- Experience of working in a global organization.
