About the Role 

Mott MacDonald Middle East is looking to recruit a Senior Consultant with experience in sustainable design to join our team of dedicated sustainability and environmental professionals working on projects across our all sectors (built environment, water, transport, energy and advisory) and territories in the GCC. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible delivering energy modelling and thermal comfort projects. The role will also involve coordination with sustainable accreditation energy submissions. You will also be involved in thought leadership in the region, and creating built environment solutions to net zero and adaptation to climate change via energy and thermal comfort modelling.   

 

You have a strong understanding of building services. Involvement within sustainable masterplanning, embodied carbon (LCA) and thermal comfort is desirable. It is also desirable to be able to demonstrate experience in delivering consultancy services in sustainability including rating system assessments (LEED, Estidama) with additional rating system energy submissions welcome.  

 
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below: 

  • Lead inter-team coordination for energy inputs into sustainability and energy modelling projects ensuring technical excellence. 
  • Being proactively involved in promoting sustainable design in the built environment sector by conducting early and parametric analysis.  
  • Lead with strategising energy and sustainability features that meet the credit intent, requirements, and client aspirations. 
  • Carry out building physics analysis for built environment and city planning projects. 
  • Develop energy models in accordance with ASHRAE standard 90. Responding to feedback from the authority, and client.  
  • Support with internal and external CFD, and thermal comfort analysis for the built environment. 
  • Provide inputs in whole life carbon assessments/footprinting for infrastructure investment appraisal studies. 
  • Develop reports and case studies to improve the energy modeling and thermal comfort service line.  

  

Candidate Specification: 

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree and post-graduate qualification in a engineering related field (engineering, energy - preferable mechanical engineering). 
  • Strong knowledge in IES-VE. 
  • Qualifications in sustainability assessment systems e.g. LEED, Estidama, WELL, Fitwel, Envision, CEEQUAL, GSAS, Mostadam considered favorable 
  • ASHRAE certifications will be looked at favorably e.g. BEMP and HBDP. 
  • Good knowledge in Rhino and Grasshopper tools, OpenFOAM and similar thermal comfort software considered favorable
