What do you enjoy about working here?

In my role, I am involved in a variety of projects globally, some of which are very high profile. This in itself is a fulfilling experience; there are always new challenges for clients for us to support with.

Mott MacDonald is a business with a quality value system that is strong and compatible with what I stand for. We respect diversity and bring together people with different backgrounds and experiences, and those at different stages of their career. From this collaboration we create value, which is transferred to the clients, as well as to the societies where we operate.

I also like that I have the chance to help develop colleagues earlier in their careers, by offering mentoring and coaching in the areas where I have experience.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

My specialism is in renewable energy. Very early on in my university studies, I recognised the importance of this sector, both in terms of its benefits for society and the environment, and the business opportunities it provides.

It is extremely multidimensional, requiring technical training with constantly evolving technologies, as well as an understanding of economic issues, and geopolitical and social challenges. I enjoy the challenge which comes with dealing with ever-evolving issues in multiple markets and countries, which vary depending on the projects we are dealing with at the time.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

During my time here, I’ve learnt what it is like to work in a diverse business that has a culture of transparency in its decisions and operations. I’ve seen how creating the right conditions to harmonise teams, and develop important skills and different experiences helps pave the way for a positive working environment.

Working at Mott MacDonald, you also learn to be efficient and effective in managing projects, however complex they may be. I’ve also strengthened my ability to manage different and high-profile stakeholders. We work cooperatively as a team, and this gives me the opportunity to transfer experience and skills to everyone in the team.

How do you demonstrate Technical Excellence in your work?

Combining technical and management skills, I guide our team to achieve reliable results which are both practical and commercial, and address the needs of our clients. This is facilitated through my professional experience in a wide background of technologies from conventional to renewables, as well as my understanding of other aspects of work.
