Opportunities, learning, diversity
I love the variety of work at Mott MacDonald, I have worked on many different projects in different locations that all have their own challenges. Being surrounded by experts in a multitude of technical disciplines means that there is always someone to reach out to for support.
I studied French and Geography at the University of Birmingham and lived abroad in Paris for a year; spending time during my studies in two large cities, whilst studying human geography, developed my interest in the built environment. I went on to study Spatial Planning at UCL where I learned the principles of the UK planning system and how political decisions impact the places we live in. I am interested in regeneration and the factors that drive investment choices and the subsequent place-based results.
Mott MacDonald’s multi-disciplinary set up was attractive to me as a graduate as the company works across a wide range of sectors and on high profile projects. As a town planner, this has given me experience on a variety of consenting mechanisms and advisory roles when working with both private and public sector clients. This has meant that I have learned a huge amount and worked with lots of different organisations.
Mott MacDonald has supported my involvement with the Royal Town Planning Institute, where I am a member of the Young Planners committee for London. Being a member of the Young Planners committee allows me to externally represent Mott MacDonald across the London planning network. I have also been able to host various events at Mott MacDonald to showcase our technical excellence in planning and development projects. Mott MacDonald’s continued support of my role has allowed me to develop my own network and strengthen my personal growth.
I am the Local Office Champion (LOC) for London Fleet Place which means I am responsible for representing our London community of around 400 ECPs. The role entails leading an ECP committee in London and managing the LOC budget for a wide range of initiatives.
