Biography

Paul joined Mott MacDonald as a graduate civil engineer in 1980 and has worked on a wide variety of bridge projects, most notably Lantau Fixed Crossing in Hong Kong.

A strong interest in research and development led to a period managing a team of 40 specialists conducting fundamental research into various topics including rail bridge dynamic behaviour under high-speed loading. Between 2012 - 2023 Paul led the metro and civil division focusing on heavy civil infrastructure projects. With a team of 600, significant projects undertaken included Crossrail, Northern Line Extension, Tideway East and HS2 Phase 1.

His experience also led him to be appointed global practice leader for bridges and civil structures, responsible for connecting all bridge teams throughout Mott MacDonald and sharing best practice.
