Biography
Ian joined Mott MacDonald in 2000 as a graduate structural engineer. Over the last 20 years he has played a key role in advancing our approach to structural analysis and use of digital tools and processes to deliver buildings projects across the UK as project lead, and most recently, acted as project director and regional director for buildings in the UK.
In January 2024, Ian was appointed as global digital delivery leader at Mott MacDonald where he is accountable for ensuring we have the global digital skills and knowledge required to bring the best of digital to our project delivery and for the digital delivery technologies that support our people.
Ian was elected a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers in March 2023 and is currently vice chair of the Institution of Structural Engineers Building Information Modelling (BIM) panel.
