Biography

Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Sustainability, community and impact

What do you enjoy about working here?

I love the variety that this consultancy brings, allowing you to work for a range of clients in a wide variety of sectors. I can’t discuss Mott MacDonald without highlighting the brilliant early career professional (ECP) networks we have – I couldn't recommend getting involved in ECP activities enough!

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I have a passion for sustainability and the planet we live on. Through my work I want to leave the world in a better place than we currently find it and offer future generations the chance to enjoy our brilliant planet in a sustainable way.

Carbon management can mean a variety of things to our clients. I work directly on net zero transformation projects, carbon accounting, business change and all-round sustainability. It may sound cliché, but no day is the same!

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

I wanted to join a company which aligned with my values, especially around sustainability and the environment – Mott MacDonald certainly practices as they preach.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

When I first joined the business, I had not worked in the consultancy sector before, so I have had to quickly learn how to balance multiple clients and projects at the same time. It’s a good challenge to have and I find it rewarding to work on different projects at the same time. It’s important to manage your diary!

Where in the world has your role taken you?

I have had the chance to travel abroad with work to Paris and Amsterdam. More locally, we have offices in many UK cities, so I have also visited lots of places throughout the country.

What are your career highlights and achievements?

My proudest achievement to date is achieving my chartered environmentalist status with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). It was the culmination of years of work, and it feels fantastic to be recognised externally.
