Biography

Ed was appointed as finance director and elected to our Executive Board in January 2014.

He joined Mott MacDonald in 1999 as financial controller and was appointed financial officer in 2005, responsible for the financial strategy and development of Mott MacDonald worldwide. He also assisted the Executive Board on a wider set of operational initiatives outside finance which led to his appointment with the executive team.

In his role as finance director, Ed manages shareholder funds and borrowings, implements the strategy for group funding and financial performance, and is responsible for the management of financial risk. He works with the rest of the Executive Board to optimise the Group’s profitability and use of capital to maximise shareholder value and to meet the expectations of other stakeholders.

He chairs the Investment and Finance Committee of the Board and is a member of its Risk Committee. He also attends the Shareholders Committee of the Group and sits in attendance at meetings of its Audit and Risk Sub Committee and its Remuneration and Equity Sub Committee.

Ed is a chartered accountant and started his career with Deloitte, working in audit and corporate finance. Prior to joining Mott MacDonald, Ed worked at ICI in the corporate reporting team and on corporate transactions. All this experience has brought us a wider perspective in developing our financial framework and formulating our financial initiatives.
