Meet some of our passionate problem-solvers, constructive creatives and inspiring innovators
To get to site I often had to take every mode of transit; car, planes, boats and helicopters – you name it!
The thing I enjoy most about working at Mott MacDonald is the talented people I get to work with on a daily basis and the positive, hard-working culture.
I would describe my role as figuring out how to safely put a hole underground and get it to stay there with minimal impact to the environment and surrounding area. I chose this specialism because I love solving challenging open-ended problems. Visiting the field to collect information and returning to design underground structures from the office provides a great variety of these.
Community, fulfilling, empowering
I came out of grad school eager to start designing tunnels, and wanted to work for the best tunnel design firm in North America. I joined the company as part of Hatch Mott MacDonald in 2012, and was able to transition to Mott MacDonald in 2016 which opened new doors around the globe.
Over my 12 years at Mott MacDonald I have grown from individually contributing as an EIT on tunnelling projects, to now leading a team to deliver a major tunnelling project as a project director. Over my tenure at the company I’ve had a wealth of both formal and informal support from Mott MacDonald. From internal training programmes starting with our graduate weekend, through horizons, elements and now onto emerging leaders, to support in attending external conferences and workshops, and great technical and non-technical mentors.
Recently I’ve been working on major transit projects in the heart of our Canadian cities, including Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary.
Previously I worked on more remote tunnel projects in Northern British Columbia. To get to site I often had to take every mode of transit; car, planes, boats and helicopters – you name it!
In the past I have been very involved in our early career professionals (ECP) group, including serving as the North America chair, the global tunnel practice ECP lead and the global ECP committee Lead.
I’m currently focused on helping develop and implement our strategy on the North America tunnel practice level, assisting our North America practice lead as a deputy practice lead.
We are looking for enthusiastic, inspiring, and committed people to join our growing team.
