Biography

Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Collaborative, welcoming, global

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

The outstanding portfolio of projects globally and locally we’ve been involved in, and the opportunity to grow by getting involved in some of them. I was also impressed by our national and international connectivity and diversity. I’ve been lucky enough to work in offices and on projects in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK.

What do you enjoy about working here?

Everyone I have worked with has the drive to complete work to the highest standard and is willing to help, making it an inspiring place to be.

No matter which office I am in the world, the exceptional culture is there, and I’ve always been welcomed with open arms. I have managed to work on challenging projects, see the world, and make friends along the way. It’s been great to apply my skillset on both small and large-scale projects around the world. This has allowed me to grow on both a professional and personal level.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

Early in my career I worked across multiple disciplines and learnt where I wanted to grow. The specialism that stood out the most was highways. Highways has a significant influence on every discipline and gives you the opportunity to work on a range of projects including rail and airports. I also believe there is a lot of opportunity in highways to provide solutions that will benefit a wide range of people from a national level to local communities.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

Starting my career here as a graduate, I was able to learn the fundamentals of being an engineer, not only from a technical point of view but from a business and stakeholder side of things too.

Through the years I have been able to further develop these skills by watching the projects I work on come to life; from working on the designs in the office to being on site watching it being constructed. I’ve also learnt along the way that there is more to being an engineer than the technical elements. It’s important to appreciate the bigger picture on these larger scale projects.
