Mott MacDonald welcomes new senior leadership

  • North America

As part of a wide-ranging growth strategy, Mott MacDonald has reorganized its leadership in North America, welcoming new Unit General Managers.

Aled Griffiths
Canada Unit (Vancouver, BC office)

Aled Griffiths joined Mott MacDonald in 2000. As Divisional General Manager, a role he took on in 2016, he has played a pivotal role in the growth of the Canada Unit. Aled is a Chartered Engineer (UK) and a Professional Engineer (British Columbia, Alberta) with a background in delivering large bridge, highway, and transit projects. Aled’s projects include the Port Mann Highway 1 project, a major design-build project, and the Broadway Subway project, a major transit tunnel in Vancouver.

The Canada Unit’s work recently led to Mott MacDonald being chosen prime designer for the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail and Systems contract in Ontario. The Scarborough Subway Extension is expected to bring 38,000 more people within easy reach of public transportation and will cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 10,000 metric tons per year.

Brian Wolf
Energy Unit (West Springfield, MA office)

Brian Wolf has served as Energy Unit General Manager since 2018, with responsibilities over power transmission, power generation, renewables, pipelines and facilities businesses. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Brian has extensive knowledge and expertise in program and project management, engineering, design, procurement, material selection, operations, maintenance, and construction for large energy infrastructure projects. His background includes work for a utility, an operator, a construction contractor, and a consultancy, with emphasis on large pipelines and facilities.

The Energy Unit won over 450 projects in 2022, including work to conduct a Comprehensive Study of Hydrogen in Natural Gas Infrastructure for the INGAA Foundation.

Jon Davies
Northeast Unit (Boston, MA office)

Through the vision and expertise of these leaders, along with the talents and commitment of employees across our region, we are well positioned to significantly grow Mott MacDonald’s business in North America.
Mike Isola

Jon Davies joined Mott MacDonald in 1995. He is an accomplished geotechnical engineer with 28 years of experience in program management, planning, design, and construction management for transportation infrastructure projects throughout the US and abroad. Mott MacDonald recently marked completion of the MBTA’s Green Line Extension, which will provide service to areas that lacked fast and reliable public transit and will significantly reduce vehicle emissions in the Boston area.

Julia K. Barker
South-Central Unit (Lakewood, CO office)

Julia K. Barker has over 20 years of engineering leadership experience in the transportation industry. She joined Mott MacDonald in 2022 as Central Unit General Manager. In 2023, Mott MacDonald was awarded an extension to our contract to provide program management for Denver Water’s Lead Reduction Program. In the first three years of implementation, we helped Denver Water to replace more than 15,000 lead service lines.

Ernie Figueroa
West Unit (Los Angeles, CA office)

Ernie Figueroa joined Mott MacDonald in 2021 as Southwest Division General Manager. During his 12 years at Parsons, he rose to the position of Vice President and Area Manager for Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
