Mott MacDonald has opened an extended office in Bengaluru, India, enabling the company to provide more services to its clients and deliver improved outcomes on projects.
The expansion follows the global engineering, management and development consultancy’s establishment of a global design centre and digital hub in India, which along with the Group’s IT shared services team and the domestic South Asia team, brings the number of people working for the organisation across the country to 1400. Its vast range of design, engineering and digital expertise supports Mott MacDonald teams and projects across the world.
Chandru K Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka and Kerala and HM Deputy Trade Commissioner - South Asia (investment), and Ashita Agnihotri, urban infrastructure lead, British High Commission in India, joined in celebrating the expansion of Mott MacDonald’s office in Bengaluru.
Congratulating the Mott MacDonald team, Mr. Chandru K Iyer said: “I was here to inaugurate this office last year and in just over a year, it is great to see how the office has expanded and is continuing to attract great talent across disciplines. I am thrilled to be here again and wish you all well for continued success.”
Adding further he said, “UK businesses in India play an important role in creating jobs, both locally here in India and back home in the UK, in turn delivering economic growth. It is heartening to see Mott MacDonald find a home in the vibrant state of Karnataka.”
The opening was also attended by Mott MacDonald staff and senior leaders including Ashley Taylor, managing director of Global Delivery Services and South Asia, Neil Lee, the Group’s head of IT and security, Amit Mukherjee, South Asia development manager, Lakshmi Kaul, advocacy, engagement and ethics lead, and Sunil Rao, Bengaluru office lead.
Thanking the Deputy High Commissioner for joining in the celebrations and for their continued support to Mott MacDonald, Ashley Taylor said: “Our team in India is growing and expanding the services we provide nationally and internationally. The larger Bengaluru office will help us deliver excellence to our clients and the communities we work in.”
Mott MacDonald enables inward investment projects for multinationals setting up new facilities in India, specialising in technical advisory, engineering design and project management for global clients. In 2023 it worked on projects for several major industrial companies and global brands, including Coca-Cola, and the global design centre contributed to 518 projects over the year.
