Mott MacDonald appointed to Associated British Ports framework

Mott MacDonald has been appointed to the new professional services framework launched by Associated British Ports (ABP). The framework will help deliver a wide variety of ABP projects over the next four to six years.

As one of the UK’s leading port operators, ABP’s network of 21 ports around Britain offers marine, road and rail access to domestic and international markets. ABP also owns the UK’s busiest rail freight terminal at Hams Hall near Birmingham, handles around one-quarter of the nation's seaborne trade, and contributes £7.5 billion to the economy every year.

Of the five lots on the Framework, Mott MacDonald has won places on three, encompassing a wide range of disciplines including master planning, conservation and architecture, BIM services and civil engineering as well as renewable energy services. Mott MacDonald was the only consultant to be appointed to each of the three design lots.

Mott MacDonald has a long and well established track record in the ports sector, both in the UK and internationally, and a dedicated maritime team with staff in Croydon, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow.

Rose Richardson, Mott MacDonald projects director and ABP framework lead said: “We are delighted to be a chosen supplier across all three of the design lots on the framework to support ABP in its long-term growth strategy.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Mott MacDonald’s depth to a substantial UK port operator, offering the very best of our digital, commercial and technical capabilities. We look forward to building a strong relationship with ABP.”
