Military and veteran careers

Military & veterans careers

Mott MacDonald is committed to recruiting, transitioning, developing, and retaining service members and veterans across North America.

Military and veteran opportunities

We offer programs and resources to help veterans integrate smoothly into the workforce, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities.

Many veterans possess advanced technical skills and expertise gained through their military service. These skills are directly transferable to various roles within Mott MacDonald, from engineering and project management to IT and logistics.

Advancing veterans and active service members

We do everything we can to make each transition from the military into the civilian world smooth and straightforward. Once you begin, you will receive ongoing support from colleagues and mentors with shared experiences through our Advancing Veterans and Active Service Members network. You will flourish in a supportive culture, take advantage of training opportunities, and carve out a path that fits you perfectly.

A world of opportunities

Veterans are contributing to Mott MacDonald's success in sectors ranging from water and wastewater treatment to oil and gas pipelines, to major transportation tunnels. Whether as engineers, administrators, or executives, they are applying the skills they acquired in the military to the challenges of infrastructure.

Veterans bring any organization a great sense for teamwork, collaboration, and leadership at all levels. Even our most junior soldiers lead people and make decisions in the most challenging circumstances.

John Buck
US Army Corps of Engineers veteran and resource manager

Many things about Mott MacDonald remind me of my service in the military, and I am proud to still be serving my community in the work that I do here. My US Air Force career in Civil Engineering allowed me to develop useful mathematical and engineering skills that I am able to use in my current role. In addition to those skills, being in the military has taught me adaptability, deadline management, leadership, efficiency, and integrity.

M McCray
US Air Force veteran and engineer

Leadership skills earned after 20+ years of service have helped me tackle challenges and instil vision, mission, purpose, and prioritize key opportunities to achieve my growth goals at Mott MacDonald. Like my years in service, I find success in working in teams. From junior colleagues, to very senior, I have enjoyed the energy and camaraderie shown by every person I have had to opportunity to work with so far.

Sebastian Pastor
US Army veteran and federal portfolio manager
