Job Description:
The Youth Agency lead will oversee the implementation of activities under objective 1, “Increase agency of boys and girls to exercise their right to delay marriage and early childbearing”. S/he will liaise with the Chief of Party (CoP), other members of the project leadership team, relevant Government of Bangladesh officials, and implementing partners of USAID/Bangladesh to support the implementation of this objective, working closely with our implementing and consortium partners.
The Youth Agency Lead role includes:
Provide leadership in the designing, implementation and monitoring of youth agency building component across the project.
Document project activities through project reports and policy briefs.
Track progress and identify issues and risks related to delivery, to suggest appropriate strategies and program adjustments of all adolescent activities.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to the youth agency partners and team members for effective implementation, innovation and positioning of youth agency component.
Oversee and coordinate the mobilization for service utilization of adolescent-friendly health services at field level using innovative and evidence-based strategies.
Develop, implement, and strategize youth led club activities and related initiatives.
Ensure all activities are aligned with the project’s mission and goals.
Lead and manage a team of professionals, including youth leaders and volunteers.
Advocate for issues and needs related to Very Young Adolescents (VYAs) at the local, regional, and national levels.
Contribute to quarterly and yearly report preparation.
Assist in arranging meeting and workshop in central level.
Coordinate with program management team to arrange client and government field visits.
Contribute to tracking of Objective 1 program budget and expenditure monitoring.
The Youth Agency lead will report to Chief of Party (CoP). This position is based in Dhaka with field travel approximately 10 days in a month, or as per requirements of field operations.
Candidate Specificiation:
Required Qualifications
Masters/ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science field (such as social work, adolescent health, child development, health systems, public health, nutrition etc.) or equivalent project management qualification
Minimum of six years’ experience in mid-level management or technical role relevant to youth mobilization, adolescent health services and systems strengthening.
Excellent documentation skills with strong evidence of documenting and writing in previous roles.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with relevant Bangladesh stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society) to advance youth-friendly services and systems.
Excellent interpersonal communications and skills in both English and Bangla.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attitude to work with adolescents.

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Youth Agency lead for USAID-funded Adolescent Health Activity (USAID’s Swapno Jatra Activity) in Bangladesh. This project will address systemic gaps that limit the provision of tailored adolescent healthcare services, and social factors that foster early/ child marriage, and in turn, childbearing. To achieve its goal to accelerate reductions in adolescent childbearing and child marriage, the Adolescent Health Activity will focus on investments to strengthen support systems for very young adolescents (boys and girls aged 10-14).
