Overview of role

 

We are looking for a Qualified Senior Accountant or equivalent by experience to join the Group Finance Systems team reporting to the Finance Systems Manager. Understanding the architecture of the ERP and associated systems utilised by the finance function will be key in order to take on responsibility as a senior systems accountant.

 

The individual will be required to initiate system process and reporting changes/deliverables that will bring value to the finance function, rationalise change requests from other finance departments, and manage changes from inception to delivery.

 

This role will also be responsible for facilitating large scale system deployments. Leading a team, the individual will be required to design and test new systems, ensuring that they meet the functional and compliance requirements of all regional finance teams across the group.

This role will see you working closely with finance and IT teams as you design, test and implement systems.

 

Key Duties

  • Owning the change management process for system development (reviewing the request, creating a design specification, test in different environments and publish updates or make announcements for every release).
  • Assist with the testing of system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Lead on the implementation of new systems and finance initiatives.
  • Support developers in order to expedite release of system changes (attend technical and sprint meetings)
  • Interface with Group IT team to resolve system or report issues.
  • Resolving advanced system queries. 
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of complex system setup (approval workflows, intercompany invoicing, system interfaces, Tax derivation rules, etc.)
  • Support adhoc tasks and special projects

 

 

Essential

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) 
  • Strong knowledge of ERP system architecture and functionality
  • Understanding of finance systems and accounting processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Able to establish good working relationships with colleagues in other functions and work collaboratively
  • Able to work on own initiative


Desirable

  • Familiarity with Deltek and/or SAP products
