Job Description:
Support technical delivery in Output 4 (Gender and Inclusion):
Plan, coordinate and support OP4-related workshops, meetings and training events ensuring that technical and operational plans are joined up so that timely support is provided by the Operations Team.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and to ensure that they are coordinated with work in other Output areas.
Lead the development and oversight of output related budgets.
Ensure that District Programme Officers are familiar with, and provide feedback on, work plans.
Work closely with Output 4 Lead to deliver activities on time and to a high standard.
Support the building of positive relationships with MBSSE and partners to ensure effective transition of LWL work.
Oversee coordination and planning of workshops and training events including SQAOs and school staff capacity development activities ensuring that technical and operational plans are joined up and timely support is provided by the operations team.
Work with the System Actors including MBSSE, Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Output 4 Lead and Key Adviser, and Deputy Team Leader to draw evidence from our work on Gender and Inclusion.
Coordinate with SSEIP2 District Officers to support the implementation of district-led activities.
Provide support to Output 4 Lead as required to ensure effective delivery of activities within the Outputs.
Regularly reports to LWL project management on programme activities and progress through monthly technical meetings and updates to the monthly calendar.
Contribute to development and review of quarterly reports.
Contribute to reporting on key programme development indicators including collection of relevant data as needed.
The role of the SPO for Gender and Inclusion may be adjusted based on the needs of the SSEIP II and the skills and interests of the person appointed to this position.
We will explore the possiblity for this role to lead on delivery of one of the two main results of Output 4 (either Gender-based violence or Child and Adolescent Health and Life Skills), while the Output 4 Lead oversees provides more strategic oversight and support
Candidate Specification:
Skills
Experience in planning, designing, and running a workstream independently, ideally within a development programme context
Experience in delivering activities related to Gender and Inclusion within an international education development context.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team to coordinate across the wider programme and with government and other development partners, building collaborative relationships.
Fluent use of core computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, Dropbox, WhatsApp,
Ability to create synthesised reports, both formal written documents in Word and PowerPoint presentations with exhibits
Ability to create and maintain detailed work plans, down to hourly logistics as needed (e.g., training workshops, team travel to districts)
Ability to understand and create activity budgets and cash flows.
Strong communication skills to communicate clearly and succinctly both in written form (e.g., email updates) and verbally.
Willingness to learn and adopt Mott MacDonald norms, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications
Tertiary degree in a relevant area
At least 5 years of practical experience overseeing the delivery of front-line programmes (ideally but not necessarily education) in Sierra Leone, across districts, especially on gender and inclusion.
Some education-specific experience through relevant degree studies, or work with NGO or government-run programmes
Job Profile:
The SSEIP2 will build on the work of the first phase: the Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP), also called Leh Wi Lan (Krio for “Let’s Learn”), on behalf of FCDO.
The programme will support the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) to improve learning outcomes for boys and girls at the secondary level and to increase the enrolment, retention and well-being of girls and children with disabilities in school.
We expect that the programme will work at a national scale to deliver results including:
Strengthening monitoring, supervision, and support for schools by the district office
Strengthening leadership for inclusive learning in schools.
Delivering School-based Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for improved learning outcomes, inclusion, and safety.
Strengthening systems for inclusive education for children with disabilities
The team will consist of different technical and programme support leads who work together closely to ensure coordinated and streamlined delivery as one programme team under the overall direction of the Team Leader.
