The Cost and Pricing Director will serve as a member of the US Internatinal Development Services (IDS) leadership team and requires regular contact and relationship building with teams throughout the company, collaborating and aligning business practices with Mott MacDonald’s central IDS operations based in the United Kingdom. This position reports to the Vice President, US International Development Services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage US IDS contracts and operational management in compliance with Mott MacDonald’s corporate processes and procedures.
- Supervise a team of contracts, pricing, and administration staff.
- Ensure compliance with federal and commercial contracting requirements, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and training. Stay current with USG and USAID federal contracting trends, changes in regulations, and best practices to drive innovation and operational excellence.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to include bid strategy, pricing, contract negotiation and overall business development support.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, including project cost overruns, contract modifications, and compliance issues.
- Facilitate organizational change to support business and process improvements and overall departmental/divisional efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of proposal budgets as needed/required and per guidelines.
- Provide oversight and monitoring of work plans, staff labor allocations and budgets, working closely with portfolio directors and countries.
Required Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in business, finance, international development, or related field, with a minimum of relevant experience in contract administration, fiscal analysis, and procurement.
- In-depth knowledge and ensure compliance in federal contracting including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), with a strong understanding of government cost accounting principles. Proficiency in federal contracting assistance and acquisition contracting types including cost reimbursable budgets, CPFF, CPAF, FFP, T&M and IDIQ
- Ability to provide good customer service to internal/external clients and to discuss and explain budget and pricing topics with program implementation and technical personnel.
- Experience overseeing and coordinating with international field offices preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Strong ethics and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of business operations governance and compliance.
