About the role

Mott MacDonald is currently recruiting a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, for one of our WWTP projects in Qatar. 

 
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Review project-specific hydraulic models for the pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs, gravity flows and associated pressures
  • To review the designer's proposals and models for the entire network, pump stations and reservoirs
  • Planning and monitoring the performance of the network
  • Working with the Contractors design Consultant to review future submissions
  • Develop technical rules, modelling standards and criteria for the modelling activities of the sewer and treated effluent networks in the company.
  • Conduct studies for new loads and outflows of the pump station
  • Provide advice to optimize designs and specifications where this could improve operation efficiency, to ensure quality and standard of deliverable
  • Reviewing construction drawings, as-built drawings and hydraulic models and highlight any discrepancies
  • To review and provide feedback on hydraulic physical modelling works and to oversee any changes that may be required to the base design concept.

 

Candidate specification

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University to the approval of the Engineer or similar; minimum Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Extensive experience in the hydraulic modeling and design of pumping stations and associated pressurized and gravity flow networks
  • Demonstrable experience in the hydraulic design and review of large-diameter transmission pipes
