About the business unit


The Water Consultancy Division is the centre of excellence within Mott MacDonald for responding to water and wastewater challenges, providing support to colleagues across our global business, and offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. 
 
Climate change, aging assets, and population growth place increasing pressure on our water and wastewater assets. Our highly successful water consultancy business is servicing ever-increasing demands from water sector clients to help deliver ambitious capital programmes. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. 
 
With sustainability, social impacts, digitalisation, and carbon reduction in mind, our diverse and multi-disciplinary teams work together to provide a variety of services throughout the full project life-cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies, through outline and detailed design, to construction support and site supervision. 

 

Overview of role

 

Position Location: Madrid, Spain


You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists, supporting the preparation of engineering studies, calculations and outline/detailed civil engineering designs; producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules; and carrying out site supervision duties. The location of this role will be based in Madrid, Spain.

 

You will support working in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that will enhance the company’s reputation and help secure further work. As such, we are seeking enthusiastic and hard-working Civil and / or Hydraulic Engineers specialising in river engineering who wish to develop their skill sets in both technical and / or commercial management with the anticipation of moving into roles of increasing responsibility. This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical and managerial skills through your project work, with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow.

Candidate Specification 

 

We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following:

 

  • Chartered / Incorporated civil engineer  
  • Professional experience of river / flood management and / or hydraulic structures 
  • Understanding of designer’s responsibilities under CDM 
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experience of managing clients and other project stakeholders
