About the Role

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, energetic, highly skilled, commercially astute Project Manager that thrives on complex challenges and relationships to lead and administer the delivery of a diverse programme of on-going and future Advisory projects within the Middle East region.  

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the delivery of projects achieving social and commercial outcomes and be adapt at building strong and lasting client and stakeholder relationships.  Our Project Managers are the driving force behind constant business growth and help us to maintain our position as a World leading organisation.  

 

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Lead and administer projects from requirements definition through deployment identifying scope, schedules, budgets, project implementation plans and risk mitigation. 
  • Effectively manage Mott MacDonald’s reputational risk, explore opportunities and add value at all stages of a project’s lifecycle 
  • Implement, uphold and maintain Mott MacDonald’s corporate culture, governance policies and procedures  
  • To coordinate global internal and external resources ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule and defined budgets 
  • Structure and manage integrated multi-track project controls/work plans and control outcomes and/or risks  
  • Building and maintaining key relationships both internally within Mott MacDonald and externally with key clients 
  • Lead, mentor and develop staff, to build and nurture relationships to create effective working environments 
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs 
  • Measure performance using robust project management practices, tools, techniques and principles to ensure successful completion of short and long-term tasks 
  • Co-ordinate multi-discipline team internal and external members to ensure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules 
  • Facilitate effective communication and reporting protocols across multiple teams with diverse backgrounds, cultures and geographies stages of a project’s lifecycle 
  • Meet financial objectives and control and govern effective change management to ensure that all parties are informed of impacts to budgets and schedules  
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner with Client’s, Consultants and Contractors. 
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques and standards throughout the entire project execution period. Evaluate and solve multidiscipline technical problems that may arise 
  • Support and develop an exemplar culture of compliance with Mott MacDonald’s ethical practices and procedures at all operating levels  
  • Resolve problems and challenges, identify trends and implement system improvements 
  • Implement and maintain compliance with industry best practice and Mott MacDonald’s Health and Safety standards 
  • Identify problems and take steps, including engaging, consulting and seeking advice with counterparties to avoid projects deteriorating

 

Candidate specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university; qualifications in Project and/ or Programme Management would be a distinct advantage
  • Hands-on project management experience with a track record of successfully delivering complex and challenging projects     
  • Multidisciplinary PM skills and project life cycle coverage
  • Member of an internationally recognised professional engineering body 
  • Membership of an accredited, recognised Project Management Institution (preferable) 
  • Detailed working knowledge of Contracts in particular FIDIC (preferable) 
  • Excellent client-facing communication and presenting skills 
  • Arabic speaking and writing will be of benefit to the role but is not a mandatory requirement
