Your Opportunity 

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Building team has an exciting opening for a Principal Facade Engineering Professional in the Sydney office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia. 

Our projects are predominantly building based, as a Facade Engineer in the built environment space, you will be working on significant urban development and precinct type projects that shape the communities in which we live. With a focus on social and environmental outcomes, our team works across a range of sectors including arts and culture, commercial, civic, education, transport, hospital which you will have the opportunity to: 

• Manage and deliver façade projects in a technically competent and timely manner. 

• Provide technical façade engineering advice to various stakeholders. 

• Review specialist contractor submissions. 

• Foster and maintain strong client relationships with new and existing clients, architects and contractors. 

• Develop façade documentation and specifications to a high level of quality. 

• Contribute to bid writing and the winning of work. 

• Supervision and mentoring of other design staff, checking and approving documentation for issue. 

About You 

• Chartered Engineer with a degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field.

• Significant experience within façade design with particular emphasis on the structural aspects of façade design, durability, material selection, and design for weathertightness. 

• Working knowledge of structural analysis software (preferably Strand 7). 

• Possess a high level of design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust façade concepts whilst maintaining a strong focus on the design intent.  

• Commercially aware with the ability to successfully lead façade projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
