The role. What you will do:

 

Our busy and growing team is currently seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer in the Water Sector with demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary projects, hydraulics and construction monitoring/supervision. 
Joining Mott MacDonald will provide you with exciting opportunities to work alongside industry-leading professionals on a wide range of water projects within the Asia Pacific region and beyond. You will build connections with our local and international experts and bring this knowledge to our clients and to their projects. 


As our new Principal Civil Engineer, you will join an innovative and motivated team of engineers in Wellington, preparing outline and detailed civil engineering designs, producing technical and commercial specifications, managing projects and working in close partnership with clients and contractors.


This role will be pivotal in further developing our existing relationships with local clients. This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical and management skills through your project work, with great prospects for career progression. You will also be able to use your skills and experience to mentor more junior members of the team.

 

About you:

 

You will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with extensive experience under your belt. You will have capability in a range of civil water design skill areas, such as pressure/rising mains, trenchless techniques, gravity pipelines (sewer and stormwater), pump stations and reservoirs and your design management experience will include working on complex infrastructure.
We are looking for someone with excellent client relationship management skills, who takes pride in their ability to communicate and who can work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will have the ability to manage/direct multi-disciplinary three waters design projects to achieve business objectives of quality, time, and cost.
