At Mott MacDonald we perform a wide range of services in the dam and pumped storage sectors, and we are now looking for a Principal Lead of Dams and Pumped storage to join our team, working alongside our civil engineering team and reporting to the Technical Director Hydropower. Our Technical Director Hydropower is a globally recognised expert in Mott MacDonald group and works on global projects including:

 

* Lake Lyell Pumped Storage, Australia
* Capricornia Pumped Storage, Australia
* Musswellbrook Pumped Storage, Australia
* Lake Onslow option of the New Zealand Battery Project 
* Suki Kinari Hydropower, Pakistan
* White Pine Pumped Storage, USA
* Kidston Pumped Storage, Australia
* Central West Pumped Storage, Australia
* Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower, Pakistan

 

You will have the opportunity to learn from Mott MacDonald's global experts and work alongside them on many of these projects.

 

As a Principal in the dams and hydropower sector, you will be assisting within multi-disciplinary design teams to produce innovative and integrated designs that meet our client's requirements and are value for money, future-proof and sustainable. Whilst you work as part of a multidisciplinary team you will be organising, planning, and managing your own projects and work. Our technical specialists work together to provide integrated solutions to the highest standards across engineering, climate resilience, environmental and social sustainability. As a company our focus is on achieving positive social outcomes in everything we do.

You will have technical experience in dam, pumped storage and hydropower and hydroelectric projects of all sizes.

The job will be focused on dams and pumped storage, however as part of the wider energy business there will also be opportunities to work in other generation technologies from time to time.

 

For this position, we are looking for a proactive candidate who takes responsibility for their assigned tasks and is eager to develop professionally. It is essential that the ideal candidate has relevant professional experience in the hydropower sector, as well as possessing specific qualifications and capabilities. These include holding a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, having a minimum of ten years of experience in Pumped Storage and Hydropower Projects, being a Chartered Engineer, having experience in project management and direction, and possessing technical expertise in Dam, Pumped Storage, Hydropower, and Hydroelectric projects. The possession of these qualifications and capabilities will ensure that the candidate is fully equipped to excel in this role.
