With guidance from a professional engineer and our global practice network, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: 

 

  • Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs 

  • Actively participating in project, client, and team meetings 

  • Analyzing and drafting technical reports and studies 

  • Gaining exposure to project, commercial, and client management 

  • Actively participating in our Early Careers Professionals Network 

  • Supporting our ‘Purpose’ in everything you do 

 

The Mott MacDonald Chicago office is looking for candidates with a passion for transportation engineering and a desire to strive for excellence. If the following qualifications describe you, apply today to launch your career at Mott MacDonald! 

 

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, or a related field, from an accredited university 

  • Methodical approach to problem-solving to undertake tasks efficiently and independently 

  • Competent verbal and technical writing communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members 

  • A proficient ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and designs 

  • Demonstrable interest in transportation engineering projects through relevant experience, such as your field of study, internships, or volunteering 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Basic proficiency with OpenRoads Designer design software 

  • Familiarity with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Bureau of Design and Environment (BDE) manual 

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
