Title: Engineer IV – Tunnels
Location: 111 Wood Avenue South, Iselin, NJ 08830
Duties: Undertake a variety of projects, including tunnels, micro tunnels, other trenchless methods, design of shafts, braced excavations, and other underground structures/projects. Perform geotechnical evaluation of subsurface conditions including soil, rock, and mixed face conditions. Produce design solutions, reports, specifications, and drawings covering a range of projects from new construction, modifications, and rehabilitation to existing underground facilities, maintenance, and refurbishment. Assess subsurface conditions and developing design criteria. Receive and review various shop drawings for projects. Develop engineering concepts and articulate them to the team. Write reports for submission to clients as well as assisting with preparation of proposals to clients. Liaise with the client, attending progress meetings, and producing reports on progress. Assist the team in resolving important design related questions. Position reports into Iselin, NJ office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience as an Engineer or other occupation/position/job title involving experience in tunneling or underground structure engineering.
Experience may be gained concurrently and must include three (3) years in each of the following:
Qualified candidates must have a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
