Seattle Waterfront Revitalization: This project aims to transform the Seattle waterfront into a vibrant public space, enhancing the city's connection to Elliott Bay. 

 

Seattle Light Rail Expansion: Mott MacDonald is contributing to the expansion of Seattle's light rail system, improving public transportation and reducing traffic congestion. 

 

To support a major transit program in Seattle, we’re looking to welcome a Construction Lead to the team to manage and have oversight of a 230 kV Transmission line and other early works. Ideally this role would be able to cover design and construction oversight. The Construction Lead responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: 

 

  • Project management activities and will be the primary point of contact with the client and contractor during the construction phase.  

  • Monitor schedule, budget, risk, quality and contractual aspects to successful delivery projects for our client. 

  • Directs and reviews the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities 

  • Develop and establish efficient office and field procedures 

  • Review/analyze engineering related materials, reports, documents, plans and specifications. 

  • Assist with scope of work changes – confirm that contractor is constructing project per the approved plans and specifications. 

  • Resolves or facilitates the resolution of all discrepancies or problems with contract documents and issues arising from field operations. 

  • Review and comment on contractor schedules and develop schedule mitigations which keep the project on track. 

  • Regularly reports to the client on the status of the project 

 

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or another related field. 

  • 15 years of experience overseeing major heavy civil, and rail transit projects. 

  • Supervisory experience in the management of major heavy civil construction contracts. 

  • Experience with alternative delivery; Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMGC. 

  • A proactive nature to address potential issues, as and when they arise. 

  • Ability to work harmoniously with the contractor, client and consultant team. 

  • Ensure effective communication with the project team. 

  • Effective stakeholder engagement.  

  • Any experience on rail or heavy civil projects is preferred.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance. 

The expected salary for this position is $178,000- $218,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
