Mott MacDonald is actively growing its transportation practice in North America.

Working with the South/West Water and Transport Division Manager, the VP level Central Fl Market Leader will lead and develop our Transportation/Highways design group in the Central Florida region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various leadership, project management, and engineering design/review duties on transportation / highways projects.

This opportunity will help build Mott MacDonald’s presence in Central Florida, with the potential to grow to lead the entire State.

The position offers excellent potential for professional growth and the opportunity to collaborate not only with transportation resources personnel, but with our many practices including water, geotechnical, energy, and transportation across the Region.

Accountabilities of the role include:

• Work on civil engineering infrastructure projects and tasks in the field of transportation/highways.
• Perform assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
• Support and lead integrated cross discipline teams solving complex technical problems on some of Florida’s most significant transportation projects.
• Manage project staff and design consultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope. Oversee technical scopes of work and conducts technical engineering reviews.
• Perform tasks that include preparation of designs and calculations for rail and transit engineering projects.
• Gather and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests,drawings, etc. and gathers field data. Participate with senior leaders in the establishment of short and long term plans for the transportation/highways practice.
• Participate actively in and supporting internal and external development and training activities.
