Role Description:
- Candidate with CFD ANSYS/HAP/IES skills and project applications/consulting experiences.
- To undertake high-quality CFD modelling to simulate airflow, analyzing factors like air velocity, pollutant dispersion, and temperature distribution to optimize ventilation system placement and design involving:
1. Model building from 3D CAD geometries through to CFD meshes demonstrating best practice
2. Capturing appropriate physics and fitting numeric representations in model setups
3. Can do energy modelling
4. Undertaking high-quality simulations and bug fixing where necessary
5. Analysing and verifying CFD results and outputs
6. Drawing key findings and conclusions applicable to the engineering problems being solved
7. Collaborate with engineers to modify car park design parameters (fan placement, duct sizing, air inlet/outlet locations) based on CFD analysis results.
8. Conduct iterative simulations to optimize ventilation system performance and meet required ventilation standards.
- Experienced in CFD studies for a range of applications such as fire and smoke spread in underground car parks, tunnels and stations, ventilation and heating of facilities, pedestrian comfort analysis, Air modelling, and hydraulic modelling of water utility installations. Also, provide fluid dynamics and heat transfer advice and support to other teams within the business.
- You will be participating in project technical meetings involving internal clients/stakeholders, supporting the requirements of different projects.
- Basic understanding of 1D simulations, knowledge of boundary conditions, and application of 1D results in CFD analysis to provide meaningful results.
- Demonstrating key engineering calculations; Fire curve and HRR, ASET / RSET calculation etc.
- Conduct load calculations on HAP/IES software to determine heating and cooling requirements for a building.
- Select appropriate HVAC equipment (chillers, furnaces, air handling units, etc.) based on project needs.
- Integrate sustainable practices into engineering processes to reduce environmental impact
- Design ductwork and piping systems for optimal air distribution and water flow.
- Develop detailed drawings and specifications for HVAC systems using CAD software.
