We are looking for a BIM Coordinator with Information Management skills to join our Digital team within GDE.  BIM Coordinators assist project teams coordinating authored models and their associated data across the project delivery schedule in line with our growing demands in this area.

With a primary focus on the delivery of transportation projects in the preliminary and detail design phases, we are not limited to the practice or the sector in which we work. We specialise in the implementation of digital/BIM processes leveraging knowledge from across the group to maximise efficiency delivery projects, supported through use of wide variety of the latest tools and processes.

Job description:

 

You will be part of the project team and report to one of more project information managers to support projects in their wider information management needs.

Your principal accountabilities will range depending on the services required by individual projects but will typically include:

 

  • Performing clash and coordination detection on behalf of projects and reporting on model coordination and data compliance issues
  • Supporting Project Information Management leadership with the initial project setup in accordance with internal, industry and client standards
  • Assisting with BIM Execution Plans, Project Information Standards, Task Information Delivery Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans, Responsibility Matrices, Mobilization Plans, Capability Assessments and Risk Registers.
  • Configuring/specifying sophisticated dashboards and data flows typically using Power Platform etc to ensure data quality
  • Ensuring data exchange protocols are adhered to by the project team and liaise with management to ensure compliance
  • Creation of project BIM data sets, including managing and maintaining project content and sourcing additional content for project teams.
  • Project SharePoint site administration and setup
  • Collaborate with Information Management leadership personnel (both project and regional) to share knowledge and best practice.
  • Support staff to ensure they are provided with the information required to ensure delivery of quality data in line with project requirements

 

Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:

  • Substantiated experience in a similar role with multidisciplinary major project teams.
  • Educated to HNC level or suitable experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant ISO industry standards and contracts

Essential competencies / skills:

The successful candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic and eager to play a part in a growing team. They will also:

  • Have experienced in the federation of models, and be capable of model checking, running clash and interface management, data visuals/ reporting and closing out identified issues.
  • Prior modelling or design experience in the infrastructure sector.
  • Have knowledge and experience of delivering projects in accordance with BIM level 2 requirements
  • Have knowledge of current industry standards (ISO 19650) and client information standards (e.g. National Highways GG184)
  • Have proven experience in BIM authoring and coordination tools (e.g. Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, Solibri).
  • Ideally have experience with Power Platform (Power Bi etc)
  • Be conversant with various CDE solutions (e.g. Bentley Projectwise or Autodesk Construction Cloud)
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally have experience with parametric modelling software (Dynamo or similar).
  • Be conscientious, able to work without supervision and proactively manage time.
  • Be familiar with CAD/BIM standards and QA procedures.

Desirable academic, qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including technical writing
  • Ability to provide leadership in project execution
