Main Purpose of the Job:
MIC covers all aspects of standardization and automation for engineering design processes within Mott MacDonald. As part of this endeavour, Intelligent Content is a solution that has been created and delivered to provide the benefit of standardised content management to our global practices.
The MIC Content Creator will report to the GDI MIC Senior Manager and work closely with the wider Group Digital team as well as the Mott MacDonald global practices.
The MIC Content Creator will form part of the team having responsibility for the day-to-day creation and editing of the product content. This means ensuring that the developed content functions as per user requirements and is of consistent high quality.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
• Maintaining the content of the library.
o Liaise with MIC Curator, Content Checkers and Approvers to complete the content on-boarding process.
o Present proposed content to the MIC Curator for review pending inclusion into the MIC catalogues.
• Creation of content for the library based on the MIC Curator/Client recommendations.
• Undertake checking of catalogue Content created/edited by other Content Creators before being submitted for approval.
• Provide support to end-users of the platform.
• Researching ideas for content development.
• Undertaking global (or partial) updates to all content.
• Development of skills to become proficient in the use of all GIS and BIM platforms used within the MIC.
Role Requirements (Skills & Behaviours)
Formal Education and Certification
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a major engineering or information technology-related discipline.
Knowledge and Experience
• Excellent knowledge of BIM processes (especially Revit family creation).
• Working knowledge of creating AutoCAD drawings using 3D models.
• Working knowledge of C3D with Sub-assembly creation experience.
• Extensive experience in one or more engineering disciplines.
• Proven track record in project delivery and team working.
• Experience in digital content creation, editing and checking in one or more of the following. GIS Platforms (such as ESRI, ArcGIS) and BIM Platforms (such as the Autodesk software suite and Bentley Connect Open Series platforms). A working knowledge of Civil 3D and Bentley DGN and CEL file creation would be preferred.
• Knowledge of creating manufacturing content within Water, Transport and/ or Energy sectors is a bonus.
