Rick Kaiser leads the Mott MacDonald federal and defense portfolios in North America. Rick is responsible for the US federal business strategy, developing federal client relationships, and raising Mott MacDonald’s profile through enhanced industry and market presence. Rick brings over 30 years of senior-level experience working within and for the US federal government, including the greater defense industry and international partners. His expertise includes flood control planning - structures and systems, infrastructure development, operational planning, and international relations.
Rick joined Mott MacDonald from Black & Veatch where he was president of the Special Projects Corporation (Federal). Prior to Black & Veatch, Rick had a distinguished career with the US Army and its military engineering branch, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). He held various high-ranking roles, including USACE chief operating officer (deputy chief of engineers), chief executive officer (commanding general) of the USACE’s Mississippi Valley Division, and chief executive officer (commanding general) of its Great Lakes/Ohio River Division. Rick also served with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and US Army as chief executive officer (commander) of the Combined Security Transition Command in Afghanistan.
