Dr Laura Hague is the Group safety manager. Originally an environmental scientist, Laura has been with Mott MacDonald for 25 years and was appointed as the Group safety manager in 2000.
Laura leads the global safety and wellbeing team and is responsible for setting the vision and strategy. Reporting directly to the Group managing director, she provides assurance to the Executive Board reporting on health & safety, wellbeing, travel and travel security, and safeguarding.
The key focus is on achieving a consistent positive culture across the Group, moving towards a target of zero harm, encompassing both physical and psychosocial risk, whilst taking into account legislative requirements and local culture and practices.
Laura is actively involved in working with industry and is currently Chair of the Association of Consulting Engineers health and safety panel and represents the Consultants Health and Safety Forum at the Construction Industry Council health and safety committee and CONIAC. Most recently she has been instrumental in developing an industry-wide wellbeing guide which will be published in Autumn 2024.
