Biography
Ian joined Mott MacDonald in 2008. He later became associate director for advisory in our Sheffield office, UK technical director for cost and commercial Management, and group knowledge manager.
Ian was instrumental in the delivery of quantity surveying and commercial management services within our UK Defence business and has successfully delivered countless projects for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation across all defence domains (Land, Air & Sea). He has also commercially led our approach to several large programmes of defence estate rationalisation.
Since 2022 Ian has been the global practice leader for defence and security. and is responsible for driving excellence in our global defence market, building our defence Academy and being a core member of our UK & global defence leadership teams.
Ian is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has been instrumental in developing our approach to 5D Building Information Modelling, our Quantity Surveying apprenticeship programme, and supporting our people through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become Chartered Surveyors.
