Biography

Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Varied, opportunities, supportive

What do you enjoy about working here?

The opportunities and the kind of work I do. There are many projects to get involved in and the tasks and nature of my role are well suited to my skillset and what I enjoy doing.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

My specialism is renewables. This is an exciting area to work in, and I chose it because I hope to contribute to a sustainable future. It’s an area where I can use my engineering skills to benefit the climate and wider world.

How has Mott MacDonald invested in your career?

I initially started my Mott MacDonald career in Thailand. When the opportunity came, I transferred to the UK, as I was looking to complete my second degree here. The business has been supportive of my career goals, allowing me to study and work at the same time.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

I’ve been taught many different things during my time here. One is that work experience is very important. It’s helped me widen my knowledge and skillset, getting exposure to the working world and how consultancies operate. I also see the opportunities here as being a library for me. Some of the technical aspects are not taught in classroom but at work and working here has helped me develop in these areas.

Where in the world has your role taken you?

It has taken me to different places around the world. While working in Thailand, site visits led me travel to different parts of the country. Additionally, during holidays to other countries I have taken time to meet colleagues I have worked with but never met in-person – over the years I have worked on projects with colleagues based in different countries, which is great.
