Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Full of opportunities…

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I have never had a grand plan and instead have been fortunate enough to have been given some great opportunities by people who recognised the value of my slightly unorthodox skill set.

I have mostly worked in fast paced, political environments, developing high profile strategies, policies, and projects. And while these have largely been in the transport sector, the outcomes and impacts of them have extended beyond transport, and I love being part of teams that can create that sort of meaningful change.

What do you enjoy about working here?

Undoubtedly it is the people I get to work with at Mott MacDonald. I am constantly learning from a diverse and talented set of individuals who all bring something unique to a strong team environment where I feel supported and valued.

What are your career highlights and achievements?

My proudest achievement would be being part of the team that secured permission to build an extension to London’s Underground network, the first one in several decades. The case we built for the extension was not based on traditional transport grounds and instead demonstrated the way that integrated transport and land use planning can been an instrument of major change. It supported the transformation of a light industrial area into a new urban district of London.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

Gosh, I have learnt so much in my time here! If I had to highlight one thing though it would be that a supportive and open-minded team environment, where you have the space to think creatively and critically, is so important to achieving the best outcomes.
