Biography

Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Development, community and enthusiasm

What do you enjoy about working here?

Firstly, it is fascinating to continually learn about the projects we have worked on, both past and present. The nature of the business means these projects often involve cross-functional teams, presenting numerous opportunities to get involved and meet new colleagues.

Additionally, I enjoy the sense of community here. There is a mix of both early career professionals (ECPs) and more senior staff members who all treat each other equally and respectfully.

The work-life balance is also excellent. I have worked in both internal and client-facing roles, both of which have offered great work-life balance, allowing me to enjoy life outside of work.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I currently work in strategic advisory. This area of work entails management consulting in industries such as transport, health, and technology. I chose this specialism because I wanted to work on a variety of different projects whilst in the early stages of my career.

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

I chose Mott MacDonald due to its global reputation as being a leader in its industry. I knew that joining a well-respected business with a wide range of opportunities straight out of university, would propel my career and open opportunities for growth and development. I also was enticed by the prospect to work abroad, which is still a goal of mine and something I am striving to do in the medium term.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

I have learnt many technical skills since joining the business, namely improving my Power BI and SQL capabilities. In addition to these, my soft skills have also improved. Presenting is something that I have learnt how to become better at, through practice and workshops.

Gaining exposure to project management has also been really valuable. I have begun to learn about how to manage projects effectively and this is something I hope to build on as I further my career here.
