What do you enjoy about working here?

I really like that we are able to make a direct impact to drive social outcomes in whatever we do. However, above all, I truly feel it’s the people that make Mott MacDonald a great place to work.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I studied civil engineering at university, and I picked varied units of study ranging from structural engineering to innovation and smart cities. From this, it was clear that I enjoyed the digital and business side of engineering more. Whilst I’ve had a number of different roles so far in my career, such as engineer and management consultant, they’ve always been focussed on digital transformation in infrastructure.

How has your career progressed since joining?

I joined the business as a digital transformation consultant in 2021. I was lucky enough to be involved in very interesting and varied projects including digital strategies for large clients within transport and water.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to move into a product leadership role supporting our Moata digital solutions, specifically leading Moata Intelligent Content. This has been a brilliant opportunity, where I have been exposed to learning new skills every single day in interesting topics ranging from product development and strategy to carbon calculation and AI.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

Numerous technical and non-technical skills across the different roles I have had. In my role as a consultant, I learnt skills such as strategic thinking, data analysis and stakeholder management. More recently, I have developed further diverse skills such as business development, product management, data analysis and people management.

Having had chance to take on different roles across the business, something important I’ve learnt is to always be open to new opportunities and relish the change this brings.

What are your career highlights and achievements?

Receiving a recognised global digital award for delivering our Moata Intelligent Content product for one of our clients is definitely up there! I have also been nominated for the NCE TechFest Digital Rising Star Award, which is exciting.
