Senior appointments to boost Mott MacDonald's regional business

Mott MacDonald has appointed Paul Hilton as managing director of its Middle East business. Paul will be responsible for leading the consultancy’s operations throughout the region, with a focus on the evolving opportunities in the energy, infrastructure, and built environment markets as a result of digital innovations and climate change mitigation.

Previously based in Singapore, Paul moves over from his role as advisory and international development lead for Mott MacDonald in Southeast Asia.

Paul began his career at Mott MacDonald in 2002 and has worked in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. Paul is a chartered civil engineer (CEng), chartered project professional (ChPP) and is a fellow of the Association for Project Management.

Paul takes over from Chris Seymour, who has been appointed head of strategy and investment for international development, South Asia, Middle East and Africa (ISMA) regional business. Chris will be staying in the Middle East as a hub for the region.

David Cox, Mott MacDonald’s regional managing director for ISMA regional business, said: “It is great to be able to bring expertise from around the Mott MacDonald global talent pool to work with our clients in the Middle East and together work to move the region forward in the face of climate and technological changes.”

Mott MacDonald currently employs around 900 staff across the Middle East, providing services and advice in the transportation, energy, built environment, water and health sectors. The consultancy also works with governments throughout the region to support project finance and smart cities initiatives, including efforts to help tackle climate change and carbon emission challenges.

The consultancy has been involved in a diverse range of projects, such as carbon footprint management for the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company; public-private partnership consultancy for the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and sustainable transport planning for the Red Sea project in Saudi Arabia.
