Mott MacDonald scoops second spot in the Employee Ownership Top 50 2022 Report

The 2022 Employee Ownership Top 50 Report has named Mott MacDonald as one of the largest employee-owned companies in the UK, moving up one place from third to second.

There are now more than 1,000 employee-owned businesses in the UK the sector contributes over £30bn to UK GDP. The Top 50 list, complied by RM2 in partnership with the EOA, covers independent UK-registered companies that are at least 25% owned by their employees on a broad basis and UK subsidiaries of non-UK companies that are more than 75% employee owned.

 

 

Mott MacDonald has nurtured its employee ownership culture since 1989 when it was formed by the merger of Sir M MacDonald & Partners and Mott, Hay and Anderson. The direction the company is guided by its purpose and values, which is designed and owned by all its employees. This has enabled it to become the largest wholly employee-owned firm of its kind. As part the Top 50, Mott MacDonald contributes to the positive performance of the top end of the employee ownership sector, with a combined sales value of £21.7bn and combined employees of more than 181,000.
