Meet some of our passionate problem-solvers, constructive creatives and inspiring innovators
MacDonald has officially opened its new office in Adelaide, South Australia, celebrating the occasion with a client event.
The Adelaide office was the first Mott MacDonald opened in Australia in 2010, and now boasts nearly 200 staff members. The employee-owned firm has a long history of working with clients in Adelaide, and the new larger office space in Festival Tower signifies a commitment to strengthening its local presence, allowing for future growth and enhancing its ability to deliver exceptional services across transport, defence, energy, buildings and water infrastructure projects.
Mott MacDonald welcomed distinguished guests including the premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, and the minister for infrastructure and transport, and energy and mining, Tom Koutsantonis, who both commended Mott MacDonald’s continued expansion in the region.
Since 2010, the local team has contributed to notable projects such as Adelaide Oval, Adelaide’s North-South Corridor, Adelaide Central Markets, Flinders University Health Medical Research Building and Coopers Brewery.
More recently, they have been appointed to significant new projects including the Tram Grade Separation projects and the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, while continuing to work on the River Torrens to Darlington project as the final section of the North-South Corridor.
The consultancy’s local teams also collaborate with colleagues across Australia and globally to deliver integrated design, engineering, advisory and management services across defence, water, health, transport, energy and buildings.
Executive Board members James Harris, Cathy Travers, Ed Roud, Ian Galbraith, and David Johnson were in attendance, having hosted the company’s shareholder update earlier in the week.
David Johnson, group development director, said: “Having started Mott MacDonald’s Australian operation 14 years ago and witnessed the growth and success over that time, we could not be prouder to further establish ourselves in Adelaide and commit to supporting our most valued clients and key projects for the state. We are truly lucky to work alongside passionate clients with great ambitions and have such talented teams to help deliver exciting and important projects for our communities. Our new home in Festival Tower, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, designed by us in collaboration with our client Walker Corporation and others, will only further enhance our ability to collaborate and innovate.”
